DOING MORE WORK IN LESS TIME

Strategy
Have you ever noticed how much time is wasted when two persons do the same work twice due to faulty coordination?
What about avoidable mistakes that lead to extra costs?
These issues and many more are present in the every day life of a company. They are sometimes tolerated, taken as something acceptable, since no solution is in sight for this problem. It accounts sometimes for huge profit losses which are not accounted.
Inadequate hardware for example accounts for a huge productivity loss as well as a blow to the employee’s motivation as they have to wait too long for their computers to perform tasks. Fixing these hardware issues does not bring a high cost but is seen by most companies as unnecessary and there is no budget for it. Now if you account in average that in one single work day, in total for all employees, one hour is lost due to slow hardware and sum it across a whole month, that would be 21 hours of work wasted. Most times at least 30 minutes per employee is wasted due to this problem, you can easily account how much you are losing in productivity by not spending some money upgrading the necessary components.

At Multiuniversal we look into these kinds of problems as well as the way people use their computer software in order to improve work efficiency, leading to higher motivation and less time needed to complete tasks. We produce a full report accounting all impacts, including psychological, financial and organisational aspects.

Motivation
The motivation of your staff is as important as the work they are doing. Low motivation leads to time spent just staring at the screen, arriving late in the office, long coffee breaks, etc.
To improve the life in the office, normally companies promote social group activities like going out once per week or even group holidays. Quarter meetings are also another way to help increase motivation.
Our approach is personal and deep, both serving the interests of the employees and addressing the issues of the company. Quarter meetings are sometimes insufficient to keep up with a volatile working environment, one-on-one conversations with each employee can help determine potential problems and also focus the efforts more into the interests of the company. You can give your employees a choice to perform different duties sometimes, this way improving their own skills, while taking more responsibility. Task delegation can help balance the lack of personnel and the excess of personnel by shifting these balances towards equilibrium. Defining short and long term objectives of each employee will also help maintain a clean and objective record of the goals of each person in the company as well as make them feel they are an important part of it.

Efficiency
Working efficiency is one of the most ignored aspects. Techniques used working with the software are most times not efficient and consume too much time. Training on how to best use Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications can show your staff the best ways to work, sparing valuable time and effort while increasing overall quality and satisfaction. Simple tips can also make a large difference; some people still type finger by finger and do not know the basic ergonomic rules for properly sitting at their computers. The position of the screen also affects the overall disposition of the person, influencing the need of rest and motivation. Multiuniversal consulting services analyses all these aspects as well as others in order to improve the global efficiency of it's clients.
